B. Pharmacy (Bachelor of Pharmacy)

The Vydehi Institute of Pharmacy provides the teaching and training facilities for students who opt for Bachelor of Pharmacy course is recognized by Govt. of Karnataka, approved by Pharmacy council of India New Delhi and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru .   The examinations and the awarding of the degree B. Pharmacy course is conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Bachelor of Pharmacy is an undergraduate degree course in the field of Pharmacy. It is one of the popular job oriented course among the science students after class 12th/PUC.

The pharmacy graduates are involved and trained in the preparation, appropriate use of medication, production of pharmaceutical products, development of new methods of estimation, quality control, Phytochemical screening, new drug synthesis, Pharmacovigilance and dispensing of various drugs for treating diseases. The course provides a wide spectrum of job opportunities, which includes formulation of medicines, drug regulatory administration, as an analyst in drug testing laboratories, occupying prominent posts in the Pharmaceutical Industries and Research organization in India and Abroad in the public and private sector. The candidates are entitled to venture in to their own Pharma business and are also eligible as Registered Pharmacists.

1. Eligibility: Minimum qualification for admission
Admission to First year B. Pharmacy.(In First Semester)

Candidate shall have passed with 50 percentage of marks in (optional subjects) 10+2 Science examination conducted by the respective state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 Science examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (P.C.M) and or Biology (P.C.B / P.C.M.B.) as optional subjects individually. Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India equivalent to any of the above examinations is also valid.

Pharmacy Lateral Entry. (In Third Semester

Candidate shall have passed with 50 percentage of marks in D. Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.

3. Course Duration

The course of study for B.Pharm shall extend over a period of eight semesters (four academic years) and six semesters (three academic years) for lateral entry students. The curricula and syllabi for the program shall be prescribed from time to time by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.

4. Attendance and progress

A candidate is required to put in at least 80% attendance in individual subjects

considering theory and practical separately. The candidate shall complete the prescribed

course satisfactorily to be eligible to appear for the respective examinations.

5. Medium of instruction and examinations

Medium of instruction and examination shall be in English
