World Pharmacist Day was celebrated on 25 September to promote and advocate the role of the pharmacist in improving health all over the world. Prof.Dr.Lakshmayya ,Principal, VIP presided over the celebrations. The purpose of the celebration was to understand and celebrate the role of Pharmacist in our society. On this day all the services offered by Pharmacist were recognised and valued. This year the theme of World Pharmacist Day was "Safe and effective medicines for all".
As part of the celebration following activities were conducted:
1.Oath taking ceremony by Mrs.S.Swathi, Asst.Professor - Pharmacognosy, VIP and budding Pharmacists(students).
2.Guest lecture by learned Dr. Pratibha Nadig, Professor and HOD- Pharmacology, Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore on scope of Pharmacy and role of pharmacists and medical practitioners in the community health.
3.Powerpoint Presentation by Mrs. Rajeswari, Asst.Professor- Pharmaceutics, Vydehi Institute of Pharmacy on Role of pharmacist.
4.Blood Donation Program initiated by Mrs. Anasuya Mani.M.P, Asst.Professor-Pharmacology, VIP witnessed generous gesture of voluntary donation of blood by our beloved students Miss, Jeevitha, Mr. Niranjan and Mr. MD Amar to the Blood Transfusion Unit of Vydehi Hospital.
